Upon completion of a case, and for each subspecialty, you will be able to:
  1. Identify the appropriate imaging modality and state its advantages;
  2. Describe the major characteristics of an imaging study based on the clinical information presented;
  3. Distinguish and state the specific findings that support your diagnosis and/or recommendations; and
  4. Recognize an entity that may be a rare condition or a rare presentation of a common disorder.

Accreditation Statement

The American College of Radiology (ACR) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Designation Statement

The American College of Radiology designates this enduring material activity for .25 AMA PRA Category 1 Creditâ„¢ per case. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Credits awarded for this enduring activity are designated "SA-CME" by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) and qualify toward fulfilling requirements for Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Part II: Lifelong Learning and Self-assessment.

The credit for this case is valid for 3 years from the date the case was posted.

Intended Audiences

These individual case-based activities are intended for practicing radiologists, radiology residents, general physicians, and specialists.

Educational Need

Case in Point (CiP) offers the opportunity for practitioners to see cases in areas in which an individual practice may be limited, including both rare conditions as well as rare presentations of common disorders. In this way, CiP aims to equalize exposure for radiologists to areas that are not a common part of each individual practice and to improve patient outcomes by standardizing exposure to these cases around the country and the world.
